Bee Caves is a city in Travis County located just about 12 miles west of Austin. It is bounded by Highway 71, Bee Caves Road, Hamilton Pool Road and Spillman Ranch Road. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city had a population of 3,925 in 2010 and a total area of 2.6 square miles. Although homes have been popping up in the area since the mid-1800s, the city of Bee Caves as we know it today did not exist until 1987. Many residents love living in Bee Caves because of its location and close proximity to Austin hotspots. Easy access to major roadways makes it easy for residents to travel in all directions. Travel east on 71 and you will find yourself at the airport, while traveling west will take you to Lake Travis.
